GIS Chotěboř
In December 2003, the town of Chotěboř made use of support from the Vysočina Fund in establishing its own GIS workplace, with a computer system with application software and a large-format printer. Its second project was the “Acquisition of Data for the GIS".
The project focused on acquiring special-purpose maps – of segments of greenery and roads in the town of Chotěboř (for the evaluation and classification of the various spaces, areas, and covers; for determining a system and the intensity of its maintenance; and for assessing the surfaces, landscaping works, water courses, small buildings and public amenities) and on acquiring a new map of house numbers in the town of Chotěboř, which could also be used as an orientation plan for the components of the Integrated Rescue System. Both projects were proposed and implemented in such a way as to ensure application and data compatibility between the Region and the town, and the Regional and Municipal Authorities, and in order to enable the mutual use of digital data and information materials and works. The Geographic Information System will be used by the self-governing body of the town of Chotěboř, as well as in executing delegated tasks entrusted to the town’s authority, pursuant to its status of having extended powers. www.chotebor.cz
