Prelude

PRELUDE is a project implemented as part of the European Commission’s science and research programme.  The Commission assessed it as the best in Europe, among the regional KA 2 projects (IST) of the 5th EU Framework Programme.

PRELUDE is implemented by a consortium led by ELANET (The European Local Authorities' Telematic Network), CEMR - The Council of European Regions and Municipalities, and Eris@ (The European Regional Information Society Association).

The mission of the PRELUDE consortium is to create the conditions for the implementation of the European Commission’s vision, which strives to initiate, in its 6th Framework Programme of scientific and technical co-operation, the creation of strong European teams, managing projects of 15 to 20 million euros.  Aside from entities such as ELANET and Eris@, 9 regions from other European countries participate in the project.

The Prelude Challenge is a project focused on European inter-regional co-operation in science, research, and innovation, in the filed of information technologies.  The project is financed from the 6th Framework Programme, with 20 European regions co-operating in its activities.  Vysočina is represented in the Prelude Challenge Project by the EPMA (Dr. Irina Zálišová, www.epma.cz) and by a representative of the West-Moravian University, RNDr. Václav Sedláček.
